Praxis terms of use
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Who these terms cover
These terms explain use of the Praxis website and its practice-insights connections. Praxis provides checks, insights and administrative support on top of the practice management system a veterinary practice already uses. The supplier, paid services, fees, service commitments and data-processing arrangements for your practice are identified in your practice's service agreement. These public terms supplement that agreement; they do not replace or reduce its agreed protections or your statutory rights.
Your practice and account
Use only an account and practice information you are authorised to access. Keep sign-in details and connection credentials private. A practice administrator decides whether an outside assistant may connect and which practice it may access. Anyone able to use the connected assistant account can use the access granted to that account. Use an assistant account managed by your practice.
The practice-insights connection
Praxis Insights reads aggregate compliance status, held billing totals and administrative task counts. It does not expose individual records, clinical notes, owner or staff details, or task titles. It cannot change records, suggest changes for approval, refresh the practice system or use Praxis's AI. The practice administrator can revoke its access from People > Access & keys.
Summaries describe the evidence Praxis holds. Missing, incomplete or dated evidence can limit an answer. A held-data total is not a certification that the entire practice-system history has been read. Review the period, currency, coverage and observation information supplied with an answer before relying on it. Insights do not establish legal compliance or provide diagnosis, prescribing or treatment advice.
Outside assistants and privacy
When you ask an outside assistant to use Praxis, the returned summaries are sent to the provider of that assistant. Its account terms, privacy arrangements and retention controls apply to its copy and any interpretation it produces. Your practice should approve that provider and account before connecting. Praxis's handling of practice data is described in the privacy policy and your practice's data-processing agreement.
Permitted use
Use Praxis for your authorised practice work. Do not try to bypass workspace boundaries, permissions, revocation or usage controls; obtain another person's credentials; or use the service to access data your practice has not authorised. Demo accounts contain fictional data and are provided for evaluation, not for uploading real practice records.
Payment and ending a connection
Installing a directory package does not purchase or change a Praxis subscription. Any paid Praxis services are governed by your practice's existing agreement. An outside assistant may require its own subscription. Removing a plugin or signing out of an assistant does not itself revoke the Praxis credential; use People > Access & keys to stop access. Ending a connection does not cancel the practice's service agreement.
Ownership and changes
The practice keeps its rights in the data it provides. Praxis and its licensors keep their rights in the service and plugin materials, subject to any licence supplied with a package. Public visibility of a plugin repository does not grant rights in the private Praxis backend. Material changes to access or the service are subject to your practice's agreement and applicable notice requirements; a new date on this page does not change an existing agreement by itself.
Help
For access, connection or service questions, follow the support page. For contract or processor requests, use the supplier and contact identified in your practice's service agreement.
